Whitney Port Gucci Hysteria Look for Less

Anyone check out the premier of Whitney Port’s The City last night? That girl is so refreshing from most of the representation you see from young, twenty somethings on reality TV. She is smart, driven, and completely stunning. All without even a hint of pretension. Very nice. And speaking of very nice, did you notice her $2800 Gucci Hysteria Handbag? While the print is not my favorite, I love the overall design of the bag. Whitney is hardly the only bi-coastal fan of the Hysteria.

I couldn’t dream of owning a Gucci in good times let a lone this terrible economy. So thanks to a new line we are carrying at Distinction, Urban Expressions, we can offer you the Gucci Hysteria look for less in four fabulous colors, all in patent which is perfect for the season. This is one bag that certainly commands attention. It comes complete with a recessionista price tag of just $39.99 which includes FREE SHIPPING!

5 Easy Ways to Help Animals in Need!

Oh I have a soft spot for animals and often can't bear to watch videos like this one. But in an effort to encourage support for the American Society of the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA), I wanted to provide a few ways you can help.

1. Make a donation

2. Shop their online store where you can get great items such as this coffee table book, Shelter Dogs by Traer Scott.

Scott realized that many of the dogs whose photos she had in her archives never made it out of the shelter alive. “I found that no matter what, I couldn’t bring myself to delete their photos, which were in some cases the only record of their existence,” she says.

This description really hit me as all of my dogs have been shelter dogs. It's really heartbreaking to think of the fate of so many of the animals. Simply purchasing this $20 book can help!

3. Add the ASPCA Application on Facebook

4. Send ASPCA eCards

5. Adopt! Take in a shelter animal and provide them a loving home!

Toast Towards a Cure

Hey Everyone,

I spoke with a really nice gal Liz today who is an event coordinator for the North Central Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation. All throughout college I participated in their Jingle Bell Run to help raise money for the cause. While I’m sure others were not so fond of my festive spirit, I would happily wear my jingle bells on my shoes well after the run! It always made me smile. :)

Now, another reason to smile; The Arthritis Foundation is having a Masquerade right here in the Northland. I wanted to be sure to invite all Couture Avenue readers to attend! Liz’s event “Toast Towards a Cure” is being held Thursday, February 19, 2009. This fabulous event is only $20 ($25 at the door) and includes a diverse selection of wine, silent auction items, games, hors d’oeuvres and live jazz! This is your chance to do good and have fun all at the same time. Here are the details for the event.

Thursday, February 19, 2009 from 6 to 8pm
Barkers Island Inn, 300 Marina Dr., Superior, WI
Click Here to register for the event.

For more information about this wonderful organization, please visit their website at: http://www.arthritis.org/

Hope to see you there!
