Oh, how I miss my rock-star bad-boy.

If you haven’t been told already (and I weep for you)… there are things in a girl’s closet that are not to be discarded, despite the ever-changing tides of fashion or the natural ebb-and-flow of designer’s tastes. One of those disposal-sacred items has been appearing on fashion muses everywhere, inciting designers to riotous levels, until finally, this season, we see a major resurgence of the leather jacket in the collections of, well, just about everyone.

Alright Fonzi, slow down. I didn’t spend the afternoon sobbing over my own Spring-cleaning mishap to steer you wrong. Let me present my case.

If bad-boys = sexy. Then what are all you ladies going to equal in this little piece of Dolce & Gabbana magic?

The trend is perfectly user friendly, but if this is a little too-Harley for you, consider dipping your perfectly manicured paws into a more-feminine version, like Celine's modern-cut, perfect for showing off the contours of your sexy shoulders.

Or, if you need to keep it even lighter (I'm trying to be supportive here), try this beautiful piece of ladylike, naughtiness by Chloe.

Why, even Hollywood's good-girl ingenue, Ms. Anne Hathaway, is sporting this fashion-must have. As if her naughty-rock-star lova’ went all chivalrous and demanded she cover her shivering shoulders with his sexy, anti-establishment wear (Sigh...).

No worries, ladies... I'm well aware that tossing "that man-boy right outta' your hair" is generally a pretty good decision... however... tossing his wardrobe... is decidedly, not.

P.S. The additional Bonus? This trend, despite it's pricey fabric, is not beyond the means of those ladies "working hard for the money" (apologize for the Donna Summer 80's reference). Check out Wilson's chic version...

Ode to a Grecian... uh... well... not quite an urn...

Hey, there, Aphrodite… Don’t be shy, my dear, I am talking to you! With the steamy heat of summer just around the corner, it’s time for us to throw our bare arms around ourselves and enthusiastically embrace our inner goddess.

Allow me to shamelessly drop the names of a few of the couture designers who hopped onto this Greco-Roman chariot with their 2008 Spring/Summer collections. Gucci, Donna Karan and Vera Wang all showed the diaphanous folds and drapings reminiscent of Ancient Greece, a few going so far as to include the toga inspired, one shouldered mini.

Why, even J. Mendel made a coutire-ish splash at several international fashion events with his Grecian inspired frocks. Not to mention that a certain, Ms. Katie Holmes, sported Lanvin's chic, sexy version of this trend at The Critics Choice Awards to the oohs and ahhs of... well... everyone.
"Mrs. Holmes-Cruise... you've truly outdone yourself!"

And, not to be-labor a point, but, I must show you this little piece of J. Mendel magic... don't neglect to note the diaphanous fabric or the lovely Grecian turn of the neck. (I don't really need to mention how stunning the elegant, wine-stained hue is, do I?)

Let me also point out that this trend flatters the curve-ed and not-so-curve-ed of our feminine sex. And can just as easily gossip

with the ladies at lunch; charm at an early evening cocktail party; or dodge those pesky papz on the red carpet. I'm positive Venus would have filled her immortal day-closet with the likes of A.B.S.'s lavender "Goddess" maxi or the prettily perfect DOO.RI's sheer jersey dress... I mean, even a goddess needs a little Sunday afternoon retail therapy!

Love It or Hate It: Posh Pants

Style icon—or fashion roadkill? The question still remains for wannabe designer Victoria Beckham, and I’m not sure this choice of ensemble is helping her cause. The former pop diva lived up to her nickname on a run-of-the-mill shopping trip to the Balenciaga boutique in her native London.

Although the fitted blazer and black Birkin bag are both cute and classic, the Lagerfeld-style gloves and skintight PVC pants are too severe, making Posh look more like an aspiring dominatrix than aspiring designer. Vicky could have upped the chic factor by simply not trying so hard, maybe throwing on a pair of jeans from her dVb line of denim. What do you think?

Everything's Coming Up Roses!

Girly-girls rejoice… accessories are a-blooming, and not due to some errant fertilizer mishap – (thank god). Everything is coming up roses… and I spent the weekend sniffing around the fashion district (for you, my lovelies!) and found that the floral prints that dominated the spring and summer lines have taken root and wound their way onto sandals, strappy-heels and decidedly lady-like handbags.

If you’ll recall, a rather sparkly pair of rose-embellished shoes recently made their way into the tabloids, when one Ms. Diablo Cody backed out of unveiling Stuart Weitzman’s annual Million Dollar Shoe at this year’s Academy Awards. Something, I would never do… “Oh, Stewy... darling… call me…".

But you can’t keep a good girl down, or a good shoe for that matter, and roses have bounced back like a starlet fresh out of rehab. They’re showing up everywhere, especially on ever-more artsy couture footwear, like the ridiculously opulent ($27945) Mai Lamore's 18-karat gold encrusted heels (Oh how I heart the gold, onyx and agate bumble bee at the toe...),

and the exceedingly less dangerous (to the health of your toes and your wallet), Giuseppe Zanotti' Rose Bud Satin Mules and satin rose sandal.

I could gush on and on... but I really must stop and spend some quality time coveting my other latest obsession, rose designed and embellished handbags, especially these luxe examples from Valentino and Prada.

Portably perfect little English gardens where I can bury my girlie pink blackberry and new C.O.Bigelow Magenta Mint Lip Shine (lip gloss of my dreams!). Who knew?! I really do enjoy being a girl! Sigh...

Trend Alert: Fun Party Frocks!

Denim is officially out! Ok…not really. So your favorite pair of Paige or Levi’s will always be your wardrobe staple, but it’s fair to say that jeans on the red carpet or at the hottest new club are a thing of the past. Lately New York gals that are dressed to impress are rocking the hottest new cocktail dress from dinner, to drinks and beyond.

It’s all about the shockingly short lengths, show-stopping sparkles, blinding colors and daring cuts that make you feel like a star. I’ve had my eye on this Ulla Johnson Ynez Dress for weeks now. I absolutely adore the bright fuschia color, girly ruffles and glam satin fabric.

Another great pick for girls on a budget is the Embellished Dress from Urban Outfitters. The bright teal color and cool detailing on the front make this dress really stand out.

Now just grab a sleek silver bag like this one from shopdistinction.com to top off your look and be ready to party like a rock star all night long!
